Oh flower at the edge of the mountain
your petals sing in the breeze
No one can see how radiant you are
only a cardinal who chooses to be in the highest trees
Oh lovely flower at the edge of the cliff
you are made just for beauty's sake
The sun bends down to kiss your face
Only the cardinal who perches closer,
can hear your petals sing in the ears of God
Oh unique flower at the edge of a majestic peak
you are magical and otherworldly
For out on this ledge
everything is clearer,
far away from noise
and this red, radiant voice is in awe...
...and becomes quiet as it watches a God of power
gently stoop down
just to whisper and sing over a flower
Oh flower rooted in heaven's clouds of glory,
your petals always sing a new song
For out on the edge
this Creator breathes
and His tune whistles through
bright petals and crimson wings
Everything is clearer,
far away from noise
Oh flower at the edge of the mountain
even though no one else sees,
this scarlet one has found you,
and his calming sound
flows over you like a fountain
Everything is clearer,
far away from noise
Now everywhere this cardinal goes,
it echoes the Creator's notes
made just for you...
...and you, oh astounding flower,
are known by the unknown
